Pakistan declines Afghanistan’s request to postpone deportations.

Pakistan has rejected the Afghan Taliban’s request to extend the stay of Afghan refugees. Kabul has been clearly informed that Islamabad will proceed with its plan to deport all illegal residents and Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders starting April 1.
In a key policy decision on March 7, Pakistan announced that Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders must leave the country by March 31 or face deportation. With around 800,000 ACC holders in Pakistan, they will be considered illegal residents after the deadline. The statement advised all illegal foreigners and ACC holders to leave the country voluntarily by March 31, 2025; otherwise, deportation will begin on April 1, 2025.
Pakistan stated that ample time had already been given for the dignified return of Afghan migrants. After the deadline was announced, the Taliban government reached out through diplomatic channels, requesting Pakistan to delay the deportation of their nationals and grant them more time.
