Walt Disney World officials confirmed that a fire broke out backstage at the France Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase on Saturday afternoon.
Around 7 p.m., photos and videos of the possible fire began circulating on social media. Officials later confirmed that the fire was extinguished by 7:20 p.m.
EPCOT was set to close at 9 p.m. that night.
As a precaution, guests were evacuated from “Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure,” one of EPCOT’s newer attractions inspired by the popular animated film.
